Imaflex Inc. Launches New High-Density Polyethylene Films

(NAMC) - Custom polyethylene film extruder, Imaflex USA, Inc. has added high-density polyethylene film extrusions, available in 3-layer co-extrusions at its Thomasville, NC film plant. The new technology broadens Imaflex’s film capabilities into new packaging markets.

Imaflex USA’s plant in Thomasville, NC, has made upgrades and improvements to its 3-layer Kiefel polyethylene film line, originally installed in 2005, to produce high-density and medium-density film grades.

The new high-density film products being produced have been developed for flexible packaging applications, agricultural film, mattress bags, high-clarity shrink-bundling film, specialty embossed film, and film for “t-shirt” bags and poly shopping bags. This new capacity is on-line and operational now.

Imaflex Inc. manufactures custom-made polyethylene film for consumer and industrial packaging. It specializes in high-performance, converter grade packaging and lamination films for pouches, bags, wicketed bags, postal films, ice bags, frozen food, shrink-bundling and lamination grades film. The Thomasville plant also produces custom-bags-on-rolls.

Imaflex, Inc. was established in Montreal in 1994 and Imaflex USA, Inc. was started in Thomasville, NC in 2005 with the installation of all new polyethylene mono-layer and co-extrusion equipment in a facility that had been closed by the former Tyco Plastics.

Imaflex USA, Thomasville, NC is 3 miles west of I-85 and is located in the transportation and industrial corridor of the North Carolina Triad (Greensboro, Winton-Salem and High-Point).

The facility is positioned for easy access to the interstate highway system and major freight carriers. It is centrally located to reach and service flexible packaging converters and laminators in the Southeast, Atlantic, Northeast and Midwest Regions.
