World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE), an integrated media and entertainment company, engages in the development, production, and marketing of television and pay-per-view programming, and live events; and the licensing and sale of branded consumer products featuring its World Wrestling Entertainment brands. The company operates in two segments, Live and Televised Entertainment, and Branded Merchandise. The Live and Televised Entertainment segment consists of live events, television programming, and feature films. It holds live events primarily in New York City and Los Angeles; Manchester, England; Sydney, Australia; and Saitama, Japan. The Branded Merchandise segment consists of licensing and direct sale of merchandise both at its live events and via its Web site and magazines. WWE has a worldwide licensing program using its World Wrestling Entertainment marks and logos, copyrighted works, and characters on various retail products, including toys, video games, apparel, and books. Its direct merchandise operations consist of the design, sourcing, marketing, and distribution of various WWE-branded products, such as T-shirts, caps, and other novelty items. It also owns a wrestling and sports entertainment video library. Further, it publishes two magazines, RAW and SmackDown! WWE was co-founded by Vincent and Linda McMahon in 1980, and is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.
